**Who is it for?**

The guide is for local leaders and organizations actively supporting human rights defenders and journalists working in locations that experience internet outages and shutdowns.

**Who is it by?**

Okthanks and Digital Society of Africa: Okthanks worked with a group of leaders from Digital Society of Africa who train their communities on digital security. In addition, they prepare groups of activists, journalists and human rights defenders within their countries for internet shutdowns.

**Why?**

The Go Bag was born out of a need for activists, reporters and change-makers to know what will work when the internet degrades or is shutdown. It takes a community-led approach to technology selection.
